Kano Pillars' Musa delighted to claim victory over 'tough' MFM

The Masu Gida put in a fine showing to defeat the Olukoya Boys, and the gaffer admits the opponents were no pushovers despite the scoreline

Kano Pillars acting coach, Ibrahim Musa was pleased with his side defeat of MFM 3-1 on match day 25 in the Nigeria Professional Football League.

Masu Gida moved up to ninth on the table with 37 points and are now eight points short off leaders Plateau United.

Musa admitted it was a tough match and showered praises on the Olukoya Boys for putting up a good fight.

"We won 3-1 which is a very good result but MFM gave a tough challenge," Musa told Goal.

"MFM is a very good team, they play attacking football. They move back and forth and that means they are very fit.

"You all saw their composure but Kano Pillars aren't push over as well. Need I say much, MFM deserves every accolade they get.

"When Stephen Odey leveled scores at 1-1 I knew we are in for a match but we responded in a fashion that showed the quality from us which I think is very important.

"We had to switch tactics because it was obvious MFM had more in their kitty.

"They are stronger in the middle and they spread out so fast when they attack, so we had to switch tactics to curtail their moves.

"We had a good game, the fans enjoyed every bit of it and again I must give kudos to MFM for putting up such a performance against Kano Pillars. I tip them to go places.

"Now, we have to move ahead, this match is done and dusted so we have to move on."
