Rivers United defender, Ayobami Asekunowo clamours for the support of fans as they battle for honors in the Caf Confederation Cup.
The Pride of Rivers will host Ugandan side, Kampala City Council Authority (KCCA) on Tuesday as they search for their second win in the group stage of the continental competition.
"We would appreciate the fans to come out to cheer us on as we fly the Nigerian flag on the continent," Asekunowo told Goal.
"Our fans have been fantastic but we shall appreciate it more to have more fans fill the stands at our home ground. The loud cheers as always motivates the players and it also energises us to keep fighting on.
"The support shouldn't only be at the stadium, for those who will not be around the stadium, they should express their support on social media as well.
"Now the internet has been a platform to do a lot of things and one of those many things is getting more information. Our opponent may have checked about us but if more of the information they see the fans real support it will in a way knock them to reality.
"So I want to call on Nigerians to show and keep supporting Rivers United as we do the job in the pitch to conquer Africa," he concluded.
