The defender said his teammates put up a spirited display in Bauchi that ought to have earned them at least a point
Katsina United‘s Obinna Kingsley Eleje has revealed that his side deserve to get at least a point from their away defeat to Wikki Tourists despite all what they gave to the league tie in Bauchi on Sunday.
A late minute goal from Peter Ambrose stabbed the hearts of the visitors at the Tafawa Balewa Stadium after the tie was about heading for another home draw for the hosts and Eleje who watched from the stands stated that the manner of the loss shattered his teammates and were inconsolable at the end of the game.
“It was a game we deserve at least a point because we prepared very hard for it. It showed from the way we sized them up from the beginning of the game till the very end and the unfortunate goal we conceded in the dying minutes of the game was uncalled for,” Eleje told Goal.
“My teammates may be shattered by the loss but they know we cannot continue to think about it because of the next league game we have against Rangers which result we won’t like to compromise for any reason.”
