thumbnail Hello,

The Flying Antelopes forward has stated that they were unfortunate to crash out of the lucrative club competition after so much hard work

Enugu Rangers’ Bobby Clement has disclosed that it was unfortunate that they were eliminated from the Caf Champions League despite putting up a great performance against Zamalek in the return leg of the first round tie on Sunday at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium

Tope Olusesi got the curtain raiser for the Flying Antelopes in the 45th minute but they allowed Basem Morsi equalize in the 71st minute before Godwin Aguda’s effort three minutes from the full time from the penalty spot proved late for the reigning league champions as they were eliminated 3-5 on aggregate.

The forward revealed that they did everything possible to change the tide in Enugu but were just unlucky and that they have agreed to put behind them their exit from the competition and forge ahead in the CAF Confederation Cup and also focus on their domestic campaign.

“It was unfortunate that we were eliminated from the Champions League. We were just unlucky because we gave the match after best shot. It was not meant to be and we have to thank God for everything. We will give the Confederation Cup our best also just like we did in the Champions League,” Clement told Goal.

Rangers will play against one of the 16 teams that proceeded to the first round of the Confederation Cup and they will have the honour of hosting the play off first leg in Enugu on April 9 before the return leg away a week later.
