Coach Makinwa slams referee after ABS draw

The Sakari Boys only managed to secure a point at home against the People's Elephants and the coach was not happy with the officiating

Coach Henry Makinwa was left fuming at the level of officiating in his team’s 1-1 draw at home to Enyimba in the Nigeria Professional Football League on Sunday.

The Saraki Boys were hit within the first minute upon resumption in the second half as Mfon Udoh turned home Dare Ojo's cross,  before the home team got an equaliser seven minutes from time when Stone Evbuomwan scored from the spot.

A visibly angry Makinwa believes that despite the good work of the League Management Company (LCM) to improve the quality of the NPFL some element are bent on undermining their positive effort.

“We played 200% better than Enyimba did. You know when they don't allow you to play football, may be the Nigerian factor just like they say but I don't want to say much," Makinwa told Goal.

"I am very disappointed, the League Management Company have  been doing an excellent job but some people are trying to undermine that.

“It’s not fair enough. I want that referee to go back and see the match again and take a decision if he has undermined that game and the good job of the LMC.

"I haven't just dropped two points at home, two points was stolen from me. The media have a job to do for the LMC, it's not just the LMC delegate that should write about matches.

"The media guys should meet after every match and take a decision about the level of officiating, about the fans and everything that happen in a match."
