Pillars host former coach Baba Ganaru's Solid Miners in Kano as league leaders visit Sunshine Stars in Akure, while Wolves play Heartland in Warri as Week 14 resumes this weekend

SUNSHINE STARS VS SHARKS - Akure

The Akure Gunners can break into the top four with a home win over the current league leaders at the Akure Township Stadium on Saturday.

Sunshine Stars, who suffered their first loss in four games in a 1-0 defeat at Crown, will be out blazing to end the three-week stay on top for Sharks who managed a late 2-1 home win over troublesome newcomers Giwa FC to preserve their unbeaten run in five matches at midweek.

Gbenga Ogunbote’s side will come with a game plan to secure the maximum points in order to remain top of the Nigeria Premier League for at least a week more.

 

KANO PILLARS VS NASARAWA UNITED - Kano

Sai Masu Gida would aim for maximum points to step up their quest for their title defence when they face the Solid Miners at the Kano Pillars Stadium on Saturday by 4pm.

Okey Emordi's wards, who are smarting from their first away win of the season after a 3-2 victory at Gombe United last Wednesday, are undefeated in their last five matches and will anticipate closing up the gap with leaders Sharks and avoid another home slip after being held lately by Heartland.

Visiting Nasarawa United will be motivated by their 3-0 bashing of Enyimba in Lafia as coach Baba Ganaru Mohammed plays his first competitive game against the team he won the Nigeria Premier League title back-to-back with last season.

DOLPHINS VS AKWA UNITED – Port Harcourt

The Pride of Rivers would aim to build upon their success at Kano by ensuring a home victory against the Promise Keepers at the Liberation Stadium on Saturday.

Its three points against the Patrick Udoh’s side that will remain paramount for the Port Harcourt side to break into the top ten places of the Nigeria Premier League table.

Visitors Akwa United are highly placed in third on the table with 19 points while hosts Dolphins are 12th with 15 points – both sides have played 12 matches.

ABIA WARRIORS VS LOBI STARS - Umuahia
The Ocendo Warriors can move out of the relegation places with a victory over the Markudi Bombers at the Umuahia Township Stadium in Umuahia.

The Ladan Bosso’s wards became the first side to secure two away wins and the first side to win with two goals difference must have to maintain focus after their 3-1 win over Bayelsa United in Benin.

Similarly, visiting Lobi Stars who managed a narrow 4-3 win in a seven goals thriller would aim to stun the Umuahia boys.

Abia Warriors currently on 19th position with 14 points from 12 games are five points and fifteen places behind visiting Lobi Stars with same matches played.

 

RANGERS VS CROWN - Enugu

The Flying Antelopes would avenge their Oriental derby defeat to Heartland on the Ajilete boys at the Nnamdi Azikwe Stadium in Enugu on Sunday.

Rangers suffered a 2-0 loss at Heartland owing to inconsistency according to Coach John Obuh would seek a revival against Crown FC who edged Sunshine Stars to secured their first victory in last four matches at the midweek.

The Lawarence Akpokona’s side are still in search of their first away point of the season and will be hopeful of Enugu becoming their Canaan land.

 

NEMBE CITY VS EL-KANEMI WARRIORS – Omoku

The Kala Ekulema Boys would be desperate for another clean sheet at home when the host the Borno Armies at the Omoku Township Stadium in Omoku, Rivers State.

Nembe have recorded double massive defeat away at – Gombe United and Kaduna United conceding nine unreplied goals in both encounters. The John Aranka's team will hope to consolidate on their first victory of the season against FC Taraba with triumph over El-Kanemi Warriors who could be difficult on the road.

Salisu Yusuf's wards would after their 1-1 home draw against Dolphins be desirous of their fourth away point in bid to get another positive result on the road.

FC TARABA VS BAYELSA UNITED – Jalingo

The Pride of Jalingo could bank on motivations from positive result in Uyo ahead of clash with the Restoration boys at the Jalingo City Stadium on Sunday.

The Hosts will surely be desperate to return into the top six after recording a goalless draw at Akwa United despite the 1-0 narrow defeat at Nembe City.

Visiting Kaduna United will in search for their first away point hope to continue on their new found form after recording two victorious on the row against Dolphins and Nembe City.

 

GIWA FC VS GOMBE UNITED - Jos

The Jos’ Elephants could return into the top ten with third home win of the season against the Savannah Scorpions at the Rwang Pam Stadium in Jos on Sunday.

The Aminu Umar’s team would hope to end their two straight defeats away from home at Sunshine Stars and Sharks with a victory over Maurice Cooreman’s team who suffered their first home loss in the 3-2 defeat to Kano Pillars.

Giwa FC placed 14th with 15 points in 12 matches, while visitors Gombe United sit in 16th with 14 points from 12 games too.

 

WARRI WOLVES VS HEARTLAND - Warri

The Paul Aigbogun’s lads would jostle for the maximum points when they host the Flying Elephants in another Oriental Derby at the Warri Township Stadium.

Warri Wolves had since their continental ouster been impressive in the league with their latest and first away victory at Abia Warriors.

The Warri based Seasiders who remains one of the star-studded teams would seek to devour visiting Nduka Ndubisi’s team that would hope on returning home with the maximum points.
