The Ilorin-based side are optimistic that they will not go down the ladder at the end of the season
Alloy Chukwuemeka, the general manager of Abubakar Bukola Saraki FC (ABS) has said that the team will not make the drop from the Nigeria Professional Football League though the Kwara-based team are currently15th on the league table with 44 points.
Chukwuemeka revealed that they have never thought of relegation and they will do everything possible to make sure that ABS remains in the elite division at the end of the season.
"I am confident that ABS will not be relegated. We have a good team and have been so unfortunate this season when we will play so well, but cannot kill off a game,” Chukwuemeka told Goal.
"Our intention this season was to challenge for the league title. But we found ourselves in a situation where we could not win matches because of some factors.
"In spite of all that happened, we remain committed that we are going to do our best in the remaining matches in the season.
"To think that we play so well and are not in a good position shows we must work harder to stay in the elite division.
“The players have assured me that they will double their efforts for the task ahead and we will do what is needful, play well and win our matches," Chukwuemeka added.
