After collapsing in a Greek league encounter, the former Flying Eagles winger has reunited with his teammates after several days in the hospital
Olympiakos striker Michael Olaitan has been discharged from the Metropolitan hospital on Wednesday.
The Thrylos player caved in as his team surrendered their 26 games unbeaten run to Yannis Anastasiou’s Panathinaikos at the Georgios Karaiskakis Stadium 11 days ago.
He fell to the ground unchallenged during the first half and received medical attention before he was taken off on a stretcher.
On his discharge from hospital, Olaitan expressed his gratitude for all who showed their support in his time of travail.
“'Thank goodness, finally this difficult week is over. I am blessed, because in all this time I never felt alone,” Olaitan posted on his Facebook page.
“The President, the management of the club, my coach, my teammates and all of you with your messages, which are inspiring, you were always there for me and boosted my confidence.
“ A special "thank you" I want to tell our doctor and the entire medical staff at the Metropolitan, for the wonderful care . I am happy to know that I will be back soon, much stronger, to repay you all this love. May God bless us,” he wrote.
