thumbnail Hello,

The Lille goalkeeper is just 93 minutes away from breaking the record of minutes that a goalkeeper has kept clean sheets in Ligue 1

Most of the time it is the strikers that get all the accolades and win player awards but this time, we have to consider the magnitude of Enyeama’s achievement this season and it is still a continuous one.

The 31-year-old has not conceded a goal in Ligue 1 since September 15 and his teammates now know that just one goal will most probably win them matches – that is a massive achievement for a goalkeeper that was keeping goal in the Israeli league last season.

The Nigerian has now gone 855 minutes without conceding in the league and could become a record maker if he goes the next 94 minutes without conceding.

Congratulations to Vincent Enyeama Goal.com's Nigeria Player of the Week winner!

The Shortlist

Ikechukwu Uche - Villarreal

The Villarreal striker has come good at the right time with the World Cup beginning in about six months. Uche has got vital goals for the Yellow Submarine in his last two matches and is pushing the newly promoted team’s quest for a place in Europe next season.

He is also making sure that Coach Stephen Keshi has something to think about.

Mikel Obi  - Chelsea

Like goalkeepers, defensive midfielders are the last to be accorded any praise but Mikel Obi was praised both by his coach, Jose Mourinho and teammates for the excellent shielding job he did against West Ham.

His covering play allowed Frank Lampard the freedom to get forward and score

Michael Uchebo - Cercle Brugge

The giant striker with Cercle Brugge scored his fourth league goal last weekend against Lierse to eclipse his best ever record of goals in Europe for the last seven seasons.

With four goals in 14 matches, he will hope to break the 10-goal barrier by the end of the season.
