The Super Eagles midfielder seemingly frozen out of his Portuguese first division team made another substitute appearance on Monday

Super Eagles midfielder, John Ogu came on for Academica de Coimbra on Monday to help his team beat Olhanense 1-0 in the Portuguese league.

The Nigerian was playing his fourth game of the season after his manager had apparently frozen him out on account of his call-ups to the national team.

Ogu came on for Goualy Magique in the 62nd minute.  The midfielder last played for his team on October 10 at home to Rio Ave, which they lost 1-0.

In all, he has featured for 81 minutes in the 10-week league and is yet to score. Last season, he played 20 games and scored one goal.

An unknown Nigerian midfielder, 20-year-old Femi Emmanuel played for Olhanense for all the 90 minutes. Emmanuel transferred to Olhanense at the beginning of the season from Spanish Segunda side, Atletico Baleares.

Academica have moved to 11th position with 11 points from 10 matches while Olhanense dropped down to 14th position with nine points.
