Frazier Campbell replaced him in the 75t minute but before he was replaced, he had 26 touches on the ball and passed accurately 73% of the time. He also had one shot and successfully completed one dribble.

Mikel Obi was on the bench for the entire time as Chelsea fell 2-0 away to Newcastle on Saturday. The Nigerian had helped Chelsea beat Arsenal in the Capital One Cup last Tuesday as Jose Mourinho admitted he might have made 11 selection errors in the team.

Victor Moses came on for Jon Flanagan in the 68th minute of Liverpool’s 2-0 loss away to league leaders, Arsenal on Saturday. The Nigerian who was dropped for the last match at home to West Brom had 100% pass accuracy from 22 touches of the ball after coming on.

Sone Aluko was missing with injury as Hull City beat Sunderland 1-0 on Saturday. Aluko has played eight times in the league with one goal. Also Victor Anichebe was not listed in West Brom’s 2-0 home win over Crystal Palace.

SPAIN

Ramon Azeezcontinued to hold down a shirt with Almeria as they won their second consecutive game in La Liga over Real Valladolid 1-0 on Saturday.

The former youth international took some games to get a starting berth but has proven to be a reliable holding midfielder in his last three games.

Against Valladolid, he showed attacking intent and had four shots with two testing the goalkeeper. His first attempt was in the 38th minute but his right-footed shot from outside the box shot was blocked.

In the 70th minute, his right-footed drive needed to be saved. He continued to press for his first league goal until the 90th minute but again was denied by Diego Marino as his right-footed shot from the centre of the box was saved. Almeria are off the bottom of the league for the first time this season with the two consecutive wins.

Nosa Igiebor failed a late fitness test and missed Real Betis’ 3-2 away loss to Malaga on Sunday. The Nigerian is suffering from an Adductor muscle strain.

Odion Ighalo who scored his first league goal last Thursday at home to Atletico Madrid was not listed for the away 1-0 victory over Levante on Sunday. Ikechukwu Uche and his Villarreal team will hope to get another victory away to Elche on Monday as they seek to consolidate on fourth position.

FRANCE
Vincent Enyeama's heroics are not letting up anytime soon. The Nigerian goalkeeper kept another clean sheet for Lille on Sunday as they upstaged Monaco 2-0.

The goalkeeper made seven saves to preserve Lille’s clean sheet and make it 675 minutes without conceding in the league.

In the 93rd minute, he again saved from Falcao to concede a corner kick. The last time Enyeama conceded a goal was against Nice on September 15, when Dario Cvitanich scored on the stroke of half time. Lille are now yp to second place in Ligue 1 with 26 points, two adrift of PSG, who are in first place.

TURKEY

Emmanuel Emenike continued his fine form for Fenerbahce on Saturday as he notched his fourth consecutive goal in three matches to help the Yellow Canaries to a 3-2 away victory over Taye Taiwo’s Bursaspor.

Emenike gave his side the lead in the 83rd minute and was substituted two minutes afterwards. Egemen Korkmaz added the third on the stroke of full time though Pablo Batalla pulled one back for the hosts a minute later and Nigerian defender; Taye Taiwo played all 90 minutes. Joseph Yobo was not listed for the encounter.

Fenerbahce thus maintained their lead atop the Super Lig table with 25 points from 10 matches while Bursaspor is in 10th position with 14 points.

Michael Eneramo made his third league appearance on Sunday for Besiktas as they drew 0-0 at home to Karabukspor. Eneramo came on for Hugo Almeida in the 65th minute and he is yet to score for his new club while Joseph Akpala played 73 minutes for Karabukspor.

Godfrey Oboabona and Uche Kalu both started for Rizespor in their scoreless draw at home to Akhisar Belediyespor on Sunday. Kalu was substituted in the 82nd minute of the encounter.

UKRAINE
Michael Babatunde helped his side, Volyn beat Shakhtar Donetsk 2-0 last Friday. Babatunde played for 38 minutes before been withdrawn due to injury. The diminutive winger has scored twice in the league.

Both Lukman Haruna and Brown Ideye started on the bench for Dynamo Kiev as they lost 2-0 to Zorya on Sunday. Lukman came on for Sergey Sidorchuk in the 46th minute while Ideye came on for Miguel Veloso in the 84t minute. Dynamo are fifth on the league table with 27 points.

RUSSIA
The goal drought continued for Ahmed Musain CSKA’s 2-1 away win over Volga on Saturday. Rasmus Elm substituted the Nigerian who has scored five times this season in the 69th minute. Musa last scored in the league on August 30 against Amker Perm.

Obinna Nsofor was on the bench for all 90 minutes as Locomotiv Moscow beat Spartak Moscow 3-1 to move to second on the league table.

Anzhi’s dismal season continued on Sunday as they lost 1-0 at home to Ural to stay rooted to the bottom of the league table with six points from 15 matches. Dele Adeleye played all 90 minutes for Anzhi.

BELGIUM

Standard Liege maintained their lead at the top of the Jupiler League by beating Gent 1-0 on Sunday. Imoh Ezekielstarted upfront with Michy Batshuayi. Batshuayi got the only goal of the game in the 54th minute and got a yellow four minutes afterwards.

Standard Liege are top of the leaue table with 33 points from 20 matches and Ezekiel has scored six league goals in 14 appearances.

Michael Uchebo helped Cercle Brugge oto a 1-0 win over Waasland Beveren on Sunday to move to eighth position on the table. Uchebo played for 87 minutes and got a yellow card in the 86th minute. The tall Nigerian striker has scored twice in 12 league appearances.

SWEDEN

Kennedy Igboananike scored for AIK as they beat Helsingborg 2-1 to end the league season in second place behind Malmo FF. Igboananike scored the opener in the 10th minute and that was the 24-year old’s 14th goal of the season in 28 league appearances.

Former U-20 striker, Alhaji Gero got a yellow card in the match between Osters IF and Djurgaarden that ended 1-1. Gero was yellow carded in the 87th minute. He has scored once since his move in August. Osters finished in 15th place and are automatically relegated.

Another former Flying Eagles striker, John Owoeri helped Atvidaberg to a 2-2 draw at home to Hacken. Owoeri made it 2-1 in the 59th minute and has scored three goals in 22 league appearances. Atvidaberg finished in eighth place.
