Obafemi Martins snags Goal of the Week to add to his Player of the Week award

The Nigerian has continued to receive accolades for his performance against Real Salt Lake in the MLS

Last week, Super Eagles striker Obafemi Martins was voted the Player of the Week in the MLS and now his goal for Seattle Sounders against Real Salt Lake has been voted as the Goal of the Week.

The Nigerian was given the highest votes in a poll by fans and he slightly edged out Fabian Espindola for AT&T’s sponsored Goal of the Week award. Martins earned 30.43% in the polls ahead of Espindola ‘s 30.19%.

The 28-year old scored in the third minute for Sounders after starting the move that led to the goal and then provided the assist for Lamar Neagle in the 38th minute to give Seattle a 2-0 lead.
