Sone Aluko played a part for Hull City last Saturday as the newly promoted side earned a win over Norwich City. He was substituted in the 72nd minute by Danny Graham. He had 94% pass accuracy from 45 touches and successfully completed two dribbles.
He missed a chance to double Hull’s lead in the 37th minute when his shot missed the left post. He was fouled five times.

Queens Park Rangers continued their impressive start to the season with a hard-fought 1-0 away win over Bolton Wanderers. Nedum Onuoha played in central defence and got the highest rating in the match. He made three successful tackles and committed two fouls. He also had an 88% pass completion rate from 46 touches and won 75% of his aerial duels. He was however shown a yellow card in the 88th minute.
Danny Shittu and Millwall earned their first point of the new campaign as they drew 2-2 away to Sheffield Wednesday but it was not Shittu’s vintage performance by any means. The Nigerian defender was taken off at the beginning of the second half.
It is becoming a big season for Ahmed Musa in the Russian Premier League. Musa got the winner on Saturday as CSKA Moscow came from behind to beat Tom Tomsk 2-1 at the Stadion Trud.
It was the Nigerian’s fourth goal in six league matches and he is on the way to surpassing last season’s tally of 11 goals in 28 matches. Seydou Doumbia equalized in the 51st minute and Musa scored the second goal seven minutes after to take CSKA to 11 points from five matches. Musa’s right-footed shot inside the box beat Petr Vasek for the winner.
Musa completed 71% of his passes from 34 touches and attempted four shots. He also committed two fouls.
Michael Babatunde played his second match for Volyn in their 3-3 draw away at Vorskla. The 20-year-old made his debut for his new club last weekend and played the entire match.
Samson Goodwin helped Karpaty to a 1-0 win over Hoverla. The 29-year-old has played four matches in the new season but he is yet to score. Harmony Ikande starred for Hoverla and he was withdrawn at the beginning of the second half. The much-travelled 22-year-old Ikande is at his sixth club in the last seven seasons.
Lukman Haruna was in the thick of the action as Dynamo Kiev earned a 2-1 away victory over Metaluh Zaporizhya on Sunday at the Slavutych Arena. Haruna was shown a yellow card in the 42nd minute and he played the entire game. His compatriot Brown Ideye was an unused substitute.
Nosa Igiebor was on the losing side again on Sunday as Betis lost at home 2-1 to Celta Vigo. Igiebor who played the entire match had 90% pass accuracy from 70 touches, committed one foul and attempted four shots while making one successful tackle.
Igiebor’s header in the 69th minute would have been an immediate response but it was too high. In the 20th minute, the Nigerian had a shot blocked and in the 27th, another shot narrowly missed the target.
He went closest in the 40th minute with a right-footed shot from outside the box but that was saved by Yoel. He almost provided the assist for the equalizer in the 93rd minute but his pass, which created the shooting opportunity for Joan Verdú, was blocked.
Standard are yet to drop a point and are also yet to concede a goal in the five-week-old season.
Michael Uchebo came on for Cercle Brugge in the 73rd minute but he could do nothing about the 1-0 away loss to Genk at the Cristal Arena. Uchebo is yet to score in the new campaign.
Emmanuel Emenike started for Fenerbahce as they scrapped a 1-0 win over Eskişehirspor on Saturday but Joseph Yobo was missing from the match-day squad. Emenike, yet to score on his return to Turkey, was replaced by Moussa Sow in the 83rd minute. The only goal of the encounter was scored by Dirk Kuyt in the second half.
John Utaka started his second game for Sivasspor against Konyaspor on Sunday and he earned winning bonus with a 2-0 win. Ahmet Aras replaced Utaka in the 90th minute and Taye Taiwo played all 90 minutes as Bursaspor held defending league champions Galatasaray to a 1-1 draw at home.
Kalu Uche is still missing from the Kasimpasa team as they beat Kayserispor 3-1 on Saturday. Reports say the Nigerian wants the club to double his emoluments.
There was a return to goal-scoring ways for Super Eagles outcast, Ekigho Ehiosun for Samsumspor as they trounced Tavsanli Linyitspor 3-0 at home. Ehiosun scored the third goal in the 88th minute. Ehiosun last scored in Turkey on March 25, 2012, when he was playing in the Super Lig with Samsunspor.
Osita Chikere came off the bench on Saturday to make his debut for Viking as they lost 1-0 away to Sogndal. The 22-year old came on in the 81st minute.
Leke James and Akeem Latifu played all 90 minutes for Aalesund as they earned a 1-1 draw at home to Start, who had Solomon Owello in their starting line-up. Owello was shown a yellow card in the 68th minute of the encounter.
Former U-23 international, Emmanuel Ekpo played all 90 minutes for Molde in their 5-2 away loss to Stromsgodset on Sunday. Ekpo has played 16 league games for Molde and he is yet to score.
Ugonna Anyora played all 90 minutes for Haugesund in their 1-0 home win over Tromso on Sunday. Anyora has played 18 league games with no goals on the board.
Aaron Olanare lost with Sarpsborg 3-1 away to Honefoss on Sunday. Olanare signed from Valeranga and has played five league games with one goal. John Chibuike could not add to his five league goals though Rosenborg beat Sandnes ULF 3-2 away on Sunday. Chibuike played all 90 minutes.
Fanendo Adi made his debut for København and scored in the sixth to announce his arrival in the Scandinavian country. The 22-year-old transferred from Trencin of Slovakia, where he had scored seven goals in three league games in current season. He was registered with Dynamo Kiev in the 2011/12 season.
