The coach has served notice that his lads are hungry for silverware this season and after having lost the Premier League title, it is time to set eyes on the FA CupThe coach of Hearts of Oak, C.K. Akunnor, has told Goal.com that his target is to win the Ghana FA Cup after losing out on the domestic top flight to rivals Asante Kotoko.
The Phobians will square off with minors Elmina Sharks on Sunday at their stronghold Accra Sports Stadium.
The former Ghana international is optimistic that the Rainbow club will make it to the quarter-final stage of the competition.
“I believe in my boys and we’re set to progress,” Akunnor told Goal.com. “I know this is football and anything can happen, but I’m quite certain we’re making it on Sunday to get closer to the title.”
“We have to end the season with a trophy and we can’t take chances at this time. I’m ready to press on until we’re certain that the title is ours,” he added.
The Accra giants crashed out of the competition at the Round of 32 stage during the last season when Berekum Arsenal beat them on penalties.
