Marouane Fellaini's move to Old Trafford was the Scot's sole piece of business during the summer, so he is prepared to strengthen next monthDavid Moyes says he is open to strengthening his Manchester United squad during the January transfer window.
The Scot missed out on a number of high-profile targets during the summer, including Barcelona midfielder Cesc Fabregas, before managing to secure Marouane Fellaini on deadline day.
Everton captain Phil Jagielka believes his former boss was not adequately supported by the Old Trafford hierarchy during the close-season, and Moyes wants to go in search of new talent again next month.
"The club has always thought about strengthening," Moyes told reporters. "You do that every transfer window. We will try and make that happen."
United lost 1-0 at home to Everton on Wednesday as they lost further ground on table-toppers Arsenal - the gap now 12 points - and will have to do without the suspended Wayne Rooney for this weekend's visit of Newcastle, while Shinji Kagawa is also expected to miss the visit of Alan Pardew's side.
"Shinji has a sickness bug," Moyes revealed on the eve of the game at Old Trafford. "We need to see how he is on Saturday but he wasn't too good after the game [against Everton on Wednesday]."
