The defender collected a third successive Eredivisie title with the Amsterdam outfit last season but, amid reported interest from the Anfield outfit and Roma, revealed he would consider leaving Holland this summer.
"It's nice that you're named at clubs like that. It strokes my ego," Alderweireld told De Telegraaf.

The 24-year-old has played at both centre-back and right-back and explained that while he would favour a move to an established club, Champions League football is not essential for him.
"England and Germany are great competitions," Alderweireld continued. "I think I can make my next step there. I've seen Thomas Vermaelen and Jan Vertonghen make good moves.
"It would be a bonus to play in the Champions League, but it's not a must. If you look at a club such as Tottenham Hotspur, where Jan Vertonghen now plays, that's also amazing.
"I want to go to a club where I can play football and where my style of play fits. I don't want to play in the bottom of a competition. I only want to leave Ajax for a beautiful club. Otherwise I stay in Amsterdam."
Vertonghen partnered Alderweireld in the centre of defence at Ajax before moving to Tottenham, and believes that both he and Twente attacker Nacer Chadli are ready for a move to the Premier League.
"They're players who definitely can deal with the level and I hope that they can make the step this summer," said Vertonghen. "They are ready. I know the qualities of Toby very well. He would fit perfectly."
