Swansea finalise Canas signing from Real Betis

The midfielder has finalised personal terms for his free transfer summer move to the Liberty Stadium, and will become the fifth Spanish member of the squad
Swansea have confirmed that Jose Canas agreed a deal that will see him join the club when his current contract with Real Betis expires on July 1.

The 26-year-old agreed on a move to the Liberty Stadium back in April, and everything is now in place for him to join up with fellow Spaniards Angel Rangel, Chico Flores, Pablo Hernandez and Michu in south Wales.

Canas was a firm favourite at the Estadio Benito Villamarin after coming through the youth ranks, and played a key role in helping Pepe Mel’s side to a seventh-placed finish and Europa League qualification last season.

The midfielder came close to joining the Swans in the January window, and is expected to sign a long-term deal when the move is completed next month.
