Chelsea goalkeeper Cech dismisses Arsenal link
The Czech Republic international insists he has not been contacted by the Gunners, and says he would not welcome the prospect of a move away from Stamford Bridge
Chelsea goalkeeper Petr Cech has played down claims he will leave Stamford Bridge this summer in order to join Arsenal.Current Gunners No.1 Wojciech Szczesny has failed to start the north London club's last two games, with manager Arsene Wenger suggesting the Pole required a "mental rest".
And despite that situation leading to suggestions that Cech is set to be targeted alongside a host of other top shot-stoppers, the Czech Republic international has dismissed the idea of moving to the Emirates Stadium.
"I don't take rumours like this seriously," the 30-year-old told isport.blesk.cz. "I know of nothing, nobody has contacted me and, to be honest, I can't even imagine it.
"I don't even normally notice such rumours. But when it does get to me, I naturally look at it to know what to say about it later."
Should he remain with the Blues, Cech would face competition for his place from young goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois next season, with the Belgian set to return from a two-year loan stint at Atletico Madrid.
