Della Valle promises summer signings at Fiorentina

The Viola chief has vowed to appease the worries of supporters by bringing in some big names over the summer, as Vincenzo Montella's side aim for Europe
Fiorentina president Andrea Della Valle has revealed the club are "preparing something nice" for the summer transfer window.

Some fans have questioned the club's transfer policy in the current window, with the signing of Giuseppe Rossi their only acquisition, but Della Valle has promised supporters that their patience will be rewarded in the not too distant future.

"The fans who want to see big signings in the winter will have to wait, but I assure you that in June we are preparing something really nice. The first signal was the arrival of Giuseppe Rossi," he told reporters at a press conference.

Della Valle also commented on his side's 1-1 draw with Napoli on Sunday, and admitted he was pleased with the result as he looks to build a side capable of qualifying for the Champions League.

"Against Napoli I saw a beautiful Fiorentina, all things considered. I think with the balance of the teams it is to be considered as a good result. They have a champion like [Edinson] Cavani, we have [Stevan Jovetic]," he explained.

"Our goal
is to fight for Europe, we hope to make the jump next season."
