Agent: Rumours linking Xabi Alonso to AC Milan are unfounded

There is no truth to claims that the midfielder could leave the Spanish champions for Serie A this summer, according to the player's representative
The agent of Xabi Alonso has quashed speculation linking the Real Madrid midfielder to Serie A giants AC Milan this summer.

The 30-year-old is seen as an integral part of coach Jose Mourinho's squad, a fact the player's representative quickly alluded to when dismissing the possibility of a transfer.

"Xabi is a player of Real Madrid and will continue remaining a player of the club," Luis Ignacio Ibanez Echeverria told "There is absolutely no truth in the interest from Milan.

"He just won the European Championship with Spain, plays in the world's best league and still has a two-year contract with Real. Why should he move?

"The real truth is Xabi Alonso will not move from Real Madrid," his agent concluded.

The Spaniard made 36 league appearances last season to help Los Blancos win the Primera Division title.
