Kaka: Mourinho needs me now
The 30-year-old believes he still has a role to play at the club following his stunning goal on Saturday and says victory was important ahead of their Barca clash
Real Madrid forward Kaka believes he has an important role to play for los Blancos having suffered an indifferent season so far.The former Milan star has started just four games for Jose Mourinho's side in La Liga this season but, having netted in superb fashion in Real's 2-1 victory over Deportivo La Coruna on Saturday, Kaka believes he can now feature prominently for the remainder of the campaign.
Speaking to AS, the 30-year-old said: "I am improving, everything is getting better. The coach needs me now and I have to be at my best for this crucial part of the season."
The former Ballon d'Or winner also noted the importance of securing victory ahead of a series of potentially season-defining fixtures.
He added: "In the first half, we were a little anxious and we made too many mistakes. We got better in the second half and in the end, have taken three very important points ahead of a testing week of matches."
Real travel to Barcelona on Tuesday for the second-leg of their Copa Del Rey semi-final clash with the tie poised at 1-1.
