Jemez: Rayo Vallecano can beat Real Madrid
The Franjirrojos boss is confident of causing an upset against the reigning Liga champions, while praising Jose Mourinho
Rayo Vallecano coach Paco Jemez believes his side can get a result against Real Madrid on Sunday.
The Franjirrojos go into the game sat in sixth position in La Liga, nine points behind third-placed Blancos, with the capital club going into the game on the back of a 1-1 draw with Manchester United in the Champions League on Wednesday.
"I think we will have our chances at the Bernabeu," he told Cuatro.
"It's a big pitch and if you are brave and have the ball, you can leave with the prize."
Jemez then gave his thoughts on the future of Jose Mourinho and tipped the Portuguese to turn things around after a disappointing league campaign so far.
"He (Mourinho) has to be made of stern stuff to be able to stand the pressure he is under. Everything he does has global repercussions," he added.
"His future will have a bit to do with what happens in the Champions League. Anything can happen, he could win the Copa del Rey and the Champions League and that would consolidate him as what he already is, one of the best coaches in the world."
