Los Che's midfielder was pleased with the way his side acquitted themselves and believes they were unlucky not to get more out of their quarter-final encounter against Real Madrid
Valencia winger Andres Guardado has remained upbeat about his side's performance against Real Madrid despite exiting the Copa del Rey at the quarter-final stage.Los Che's 1-1 draw was not enough to ensure progression to the semi-finals as Jose Mourinho's men went through 3-1 on aggregate to face either Barcelona or Malaga who play on Thursday.
But the Mexico international believed that they were unfortunate not to get more from the tie.
"The key for us was to score first," the 26-year-old said, "We tried to go for it and looked dangerous from set pieces, but were unlucky.
“The team has recovered its attitude and the game ended with a very different feel to that after the weekend’s defeat.
"I think morale fell after Madrid scored but we kept fighting until the final whistle."
Looking ahead to Valencia's upcoming game against Deportivo, Guardado insisted they will take nothing for granted against their lowly-league opponents.
He added: "There are no weak opponents, even if you are playing the team at the bottom of the league."
