The former Valencia striker has largely found himself on the bench at Camp Nou in 2012-13, but has still found the back of the net on eight occasions, and the 61-year-old is sure he will find further opportunities to play.
"Barcelona play many games, and I am certain he will have a chance to play," the Spain coach told reporters.
"What is most important is how his recovery from his injury is handled, and that is down to the coach to handle as best he can."
Del Bosque went on to say that he was happy with the number of striking options at his disposal for the national team.
"I think it is a good time for all the forwards; [Aritz] Aduriz, [Alvaro] Negredo and [Roberto] Soldado are still scoring goals, Iago Aspas and Michu too. There are a lot of players.”
The former Real Madrid boss also remarked on the recent upturn in fortunes of Fernando Torres, who has scored four goals in his last two games.
"He is playing, scoring goals and seems to have been slightly revived at Chelsea with the arrival of Rafa Benitez."
