thumbnail Hello,

The Portuguese coach was over the moon to see his side set a new record in the league and credited the players for their incredible accomplishment

Jose Mourinho was unsurprisingly full of praise for his Real Madrid team on Sunday as his charges made Primera Division history with their outstanding Liga campaign.

The Spanish champions reached the 100-point mark in the league following the weekend's 4-1 victory against Mallorca, breaking the competition's record for the highest number of points in a single season.

"I would like to thank everyone for this magical night," he is quoted as saying by the club's website.

"As the best club in football history, Real Madrid try to win all the titles.

"This team has made history as the one that secured 100 points and these players are the ones who made that possible."

Jose Callejon, who was an unused substitute against Mallorca, jumped onto the shoulders of Mourinho after the match as he celebrated the title and thanked the fans for their support throughout the season.

"The truth is that the fans made all this possible," Callejon said. "We always have to give them more.

"We have to continue to fight to go further for them."
