Pep Guardiola has opted to rest a number of players for his Camp Nou farewell against Espanyol, with one eye clearly on the Copa del Rey final later this month.

Xavi only makes the bench for the Blaugrana having picked up a calf problem in the 2-2 draw with Chelsea in the Champions League last month.

Jose Pinto continues in goal while Martin Montoya is selected ahead of Daniel Alves at right-back. Alexis Sanchez was ruled out of the derby in midweek with a hamstring injury while Isaac Cuenca is not risked.

Kalu Uche does not make the starting line-up for Espanyol who are also without Sergio Garcia, Felipe Mattioni and Juan Albin.
