One British tabloid claimed that an agreement was in place to take the Brazilian to Old Trafford, but Wagner Ribeiro has accused the publication of simply inventing the story
It had been claimed in a British tabloid that the Red Devils had agreed a deal with the Tricolor Paulista for the Brazil international, who is currently in London preparing for his country's Olympic Games campaign.
However, the player's representative, Wagner Ribeiro, insists the story was complete fiction and that his client, who has also been heavily linked with Italian giants Inter, is not even thinking about his future at the moment.
"I can 100 per cent guarantee that Lucas is not Manchester United's and that he has not been sold," the agent told FCinternews.it. "Indeed, the player is only thinking about the Olympics right now.
"These are all rumours from the English newspapers; a London newspaper invented this new one, which is a common thing in England."
However, United boss Sir Alex Ferguson has confirmed that he is interested in signing the 19-year-old Lucas, who has already been capped 19 times by the Selecao.
