The former Netherlands international has praised the maturity of the teenager and believes other youngsters at the club should aim to follow in his footsteps
The 18-year-old forward has scored six times in 17 appearances in all competitions this season and already represented Denmark at senior level.
And with the teenager helping the club to second place in the Eredivisie table - three points behind leaders PSV - Overmars has been quick to heap praise on the young talent.
"Viktor is a good example for guys like Lucas Andersen and Dejan Meleg," he told The Telegraph.
"When you get a chance and do well, you play. He is 18 and has ups and downs, but the class is there and he can already decide matches."
Fischer has been linked with a move to Premier league side Manchester United but is expected to sign a new contract at the Amsterdam Arena until 2017.
