thumbnail Hello,

The Super Eagles captain has been handed a starter's shirt against France to become the first Nigerian player to reach a century for the reigning African champion

Joseph Yobo will made his 100th appearance for Nigeria in Monday’s 2014 World Cup round of 16 clash with France in Brasilia after national team coach Stephen Keshi included him in his starting XI.

Yobo will partner Kenneth Omeruo , Juwon Oshaniwa and Efe Ambrose in defence as the reigning African champions aim to qualify for the last eight for the first time ever.

He made his debut for Nigeria’s national side on March 24, 2001 in an Africa Nations Cup qualifier against Zambia in Chingola and has featured in three Fifa World Cups plus six African Cup of Nations.

Aside from scoring seven goals for the country, the biggest highlight of his international career was leading the Super Eagles to win the 2013 African Cup of Nations staged in South Africa.

The 33-year-old has taken part in all of Nigeria's games at this summer's World Cup.
