thumbnail Hello,

There weren't too many Nigerian goals over the last weekend but Ik Uche scored for the first time for his newly promoted club in the Spanish Liga

ENGLAND
Sone Aluko was on show for Hull City on Saturday as his team travelled to the Etihad Stadium to face Manchester City and Aluko should have given the Tigers the lead in the 31st minute when he went one-on-one with Joe Hart, but he missed the chance. City came back stronger in the second half and secured victory with goals from Alvaro Negredo and a sumptuous free kick from Yaya Toure.

Aluko came off in the 70th minute with a hamstring strain and was replaced by Stephen Quinn. The Nigerian had 92% accuracy from 38 touches and successfully completed four dribbles. He also had one shot and one tackle.

Peter Odemwingie is still frozen out at West Brom as the Baggies’ management will be wondering where their first league goal will come from. Stoke City are said to be ready with a $4 million bid that should see him move to the Brittania.

Victor Moses has moved to Anfield on a one-year loan while Mikel Obi played some minutes of the Uefa Super Cup clash with Bayern Munich last Friday which Chelsea lost on penalties.

Musa scored the second goal and the winner for the defending league champions in the 77th minute. It was a right-footed shot from outside the box that beat Roman Gerus all hands down.

Amker had shocked the home team and their fans by going ahead in the first minute but Seydou Doumbia equalized in the 23rd before Musa got the winner. The Nigerian has now scored five times in seven league games. CSKA are now top of the league table with 17 points from seven matches. Ikechukwu Uche came on in the 73rd minute for Jonathan Pereira and scored two minutes afterwards with a jab off a Giovanni dos Santos cross to complete the rout.

Uche scored 14 goals in 32 league appearances for the ‘Yellow Submarine’ in the Segunda division as they got promoted instantly after their demotion in the 2011/12 season. Uche after the match tweeted: “Great game, great win. Happy to get on the score sheet but the hard work continue.”
