The Flying Antelopes moved up the league table after a narrow victory over the Makurdi visitors on WednesdayChristian Obiozor was the cynosure of all eyes as his two goals gave Enugu Rangers all three points in the battle against Lobi Stars in a week 28 game of the Nigeria Premier League played in Enugu on Wednesday.
Obiozor who joined the Flying Antelopes during the mid-season transfer window was in splendid form all through the game as Rangers garnered 42 points from 28 games.
Lobi Stars had approached the game with all seriousness as they pressed forward from the blast of the whistle.
It did not take long before they were rewarded on 15 minutes. Lekan Agunloye's fine pass found Joshua Agbanye who wasted no time in shooting past Emmanuel Daniel in goal for Rangers.
But the boys from Makurdi relaxed after the goal and that gave Rangers players all the confidence to take the game to Lobi Stars.
The defence line of Lobi was subjected to a barrage of attacks and in the 40th minute, Obiozor nodded in Sunday Chinedu's corner kick.
Rangers continued from where they stopped in the first half and just five minutes into the second stanza, Obiozor popped up again to finish Chinedu's inviting cross which gave Terkaa Melai in goal for Lobi Stars no chance to react.
Rain played a major part in the half as it did not allow the players express themselves in the second half.
But Rangers held on to emerge victorious and garnered 42 points so far.
Lobi will face Nasarawa United this weekend and they must win to move away from relegation zone.
