The former Lobi Stars midfielder says the Port Harcourt club side will finish well in the season
Sharks midfielder Jonah Abutu has confessed that his team will not go on relegation at the end of the season.
Abutu noted that the present form of the team will see them even finish well on the league table.
Sharks have 33 points and are placed 15th on the log and last Wednesday won their first away game against city rivals, Dolphins. They are also playing at home this weekend against Lobi Stars.
Jonah Abutu who joined the Port-Harcourt side from Lobi Stars is optimistic they have successfully played themselves out of relegation after a difficult start in the season.
“It was a horrible start in the season. We could not win our home matches and all away games were lost. We prepared well at some point, but the problem of not giving Austin Eguavoen affected the team.
“When coach Gbenga Ogunbote replaced Eguavoen, he could not turn things around immediately. But later, we got our bearing and things are working out for us.
“I want to say it here that there is no way Sharks will be relegated. Everybody who saw the game against Dolphins will attest to the fact that we have really improved.
“Let me also say it here that what we are thinking of finishing the League in a very respectable position. The nightmare of always playing to leave the bottom of the League table is over with the win over Dolphins.
“Now we can settle down and play football with all concentration, knowing fully well that Sharks will retain their status as a Premier League side next season,” Abutu boasted.
