The forward is already in the Rainbow nation ahead of his two weeks trials with PSL sides Orlando Pirates and SuperSport United
Akwa United striker, Ubong Ekpai is in South Africa for two weeks trials with top Premier Soccer League sides which commences on Monday.
Ekpai left Nigeria's shores on last Tuesday and the hard working forward has informed Goal that he is raring to go and make a success of his test with either Orlando Pirates or SuperSport United.
With six goals in the league and another two in the Federation Cup, Ekpai is one of the stand out performers for the Uyo side this season.
"I am already in South Africa. It is so cold here but I must not forget the reason I came to this country. I won't allow any distraction to halt my plan to be a foreign based player.
"For now my agent said he is working with both SuperSport United and Orlando Pirates for me but on Monday I will commence the trials and I hope I prove myself to be handed a contract," Ekpai told Goal.
The player's last known contribution to Akwa United was helping the club progress to the quarter final of the Federation Cup at the expense of Enugu Rangers at the Dan Anyiam Stadium,Owerri. The Uyo side beat the Flying Antelopes 2-1.
He was also instrumental to the victory earned at the death by his club at home to Lobi Stars when his last ditch shot found well-placed Mfon Udoh to net the winner in added on time. The game also ended 2-1 in Akwa United's favour.
