Bassey Akpan craves Vietnamese league trophy

The former Heartland goalkeeper says they are in a good frame of mind to beat all teams to the League trophy
Former Heartland goalkeeper, Bassey Akpan has revealed that it will be his wish to lead his club, Hoan Anh Gia Lai to the Vietnamese League trophy.

Akpan who has played in all 16 games this season told Goal that they are working hard to make sure that they finally win the League shield that has eluded them for a long time.

"We are playing well this season, because we have some new players that greatly reinforced the team. That is why I am confident that we can stun all teams by taking away the League trophy," said Akpan.

"The League is in the sixteenth week and we are currently third on the table with 28 points. Song Lam Nghe are first on the table with 29 points, while Hanoi T&T occupy the second position with 28 points.

"But I am sure that we are going to overhaul the two teams in front of us before the end of the season.We have the ability to do just that.

"We are not over confident, but believe in our abilities.

This is the season that I am sure we can get the job done. Everything will work well for us and at the end of the season, we will smile," Akpan sounded off.
