Bayelsa United coach, Ladan Bosso has revealed that the defeat the team suffered in the hands of Abubakar Bukola Saraki in the round of 32 in the Federation Cup will not affect their chances in the Premier League.
ABS beat the Yenagoa side 5-4 on penalties after the match played at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium in Benin ended goalless at regulation time.
He noted that the defeat will infact motivate the boys to further improve their performance in the Premier League.
"The defeat is painful because no team goes into a battle to lose. But I have forgotten about the game and I am focussed on my next game against League leaders, Kano Pillars at home this weekend.
"And I want to say that my boys took the defeat well and everybody is working hard to make sure that we beat Kano Pillars on Sunday.
"We need the three points and the loss to ABS is now the tonic that will propel my players to win on Sunday.
"We are in a good position on the league table and all we need to do is to play well to consolidate and gain a berth to play in the continent next year," Bosso sounded off.
