Victor Anichebe scores for Everton while Victor Moses helps Chelsea to a win

The Super Eagles players have started their seasons with friendly run-outs on Wednesday

Victor Anichebe played for 45 minutes in Everton’s pre-season friendly match against Accrington Stanley on Wednesday and scored while Victor Moses was given 45 minutes also to show new Chelsea boss, Jose Mourinho his stuff.

Anichebe started the game for Everton and supposedly is laying down a marker for the new striker; Arouna Kone and Nikica Jelavic as the preparation for the 2013/14 season enter the final preparatory stage. Anichebe scored with a header from a Kevin Mirallas cross in the 16th minute. He was replaced at the beginning of the second half. Everton won 4-1.

In Bangkok, Victor Moses came on in the second half for Chelsea’s match against Singha All-Stars. The match ended 1-0 in favour of the Europa League champions courtesy of a first half penalty goal by Romelu Lukakau.

Moses almost scored in the 56th minute after he combined with Kevin De Bryne down the right but his cross-cum shot was saved by the Singha goalkeeper. Moses tweeted afterwards saying; “Great to be back out there and get 45 mins under my belt. Great result too, well-done lads.”

Chelsea are on their way to Malaysia for another friendly on Sunday. Both Victors have been included in the Super Eagles list released by Stephen Keshi to prosecute the Nelson Mandela Challenge against Bafana Bafana on August 14 in Durban.
