The indigenous manufacturing company will produce the kits to be worn in the semi finals and final of this year's Governor's Cup in Calabar
Nigeria’s sportswear company, OWU has reached an agreement to partner with the Cross River Governor’s Cup which starts in October.
The competition will be played by clubs from all the 18 local governments and is also open to private club sides in the state.
OWU Sports Wear started business as a foremost kit manufacturing company in Nigeria and is already the kits sponsors of Premier League teams Shooting Stars, Lobi Stars, Abubakar Bukola Saraki and MFM FC.
OWU will kit all the semi finals teams and also the finalist in the competition. The finals will be played in December during the famous Calabar Carnival.
Chief Executive Officer of OWU Sports Wear, Tunji Brown said they want to identify with the Cross River Governor’s Cup because it is one sure way of getting new players for the various national teams and the league teams in the country.
“This is a good competition to unearth talented footballers in Cross River State. We want to support the competition because we believe that young, virile footballers with potentials can be discovered during the competition,” Brown said.
“We will do our best to make sure everything works out well with all the players and officials getting quality jerseys during the semi finals and final of the competition,” he said.
