The former Sunshine Stars coach is confident the Blue Angels will not go down to the lower league at the end of the seasonSharks coach, Gbenga Ogunbote has told Goal that the team is not a candidate for relegation at the end of the current season.
Sharks are presently in the 18th position with 14 points on the league table and started battling relegation from the first game of the season.
But Ogunbote has boasted that the club is not one that will go down at the end of the season.
"I am very confident that we cannot but stay in the Nigeria Professional Football League next season. I know we have a good team.
"And the players have assured me that they are going to put in their best to make sure that we avoid the drop to the lower league.
"We are doing everything possible to make sure that we are not relegated and it is not an empty boast that Sharks will not go down.
"We have a crop of players that are ready to sacrifice so much to make the team remain in the elite division. And I know that during the mid season transfer window, we are also going to get in some players to fortify the team.
"Our supporters should not despair. There is no cause for alarm. We will get it right at the right time. The new players recruited during week nine and still blending with the old ones.
"What I know is that we have the wherewithal to finish well at the end of the season," Ogunbote said.
