After their 3-1 victory over Enugu Rangers in Saturday’s Caf Champions League game, Recreativo de Libolo coach Henrique Calisto has told Goal that it will be his wish to sign Nigeria international, Sunday Mba in his team for the group stage of the competition.
He noted that Rangers played well, but he signalled out Mba because he was the engine room of the Flying Antelopes scoring their lone goal.
Mba made his début for Rangers in the game after a prolonged transfer crisis involving Warri Wolves who finally released him late last week.
“I am going to fortify my team for the group stage of the competition and one of the players I will wish to have in my team is Nigeria international Sunday Mba,” Calisto told Goal.
“I learnt he came into Libolo some minutes before the game and he played so well and also scored a beautiful goal. If he could play that way with no rest, you can imagine what he will do when he is fully rested.
“I know that he is a big player in Nigeria with what he did at the last Nations Cup, but we can at least try and see if we can still bring him to Libolo.
“It will take a lot of things to sign him on but there is nothing wrong in trying. He is one of the players that can help us when the League stage begins in the Champions League.
“He is a midfielder that can also play as a support striker. I saw his goal and the control was super. Let us see what will happen but like I said we need such players to strengthen Libolo for the task ahead,” the Portuguese said.
