The AFCON hero has noted that he did well in the CAF Champions League in spite of constraints against him
Afcon hero, Sunday Mba has told Goal that he is happy with his performance in Enugu Rangers' Caf Champions League game against Recreativo Libolo where he scored the only goal even though they lost 3-1 on Saturday evening.
The forward’s goal was sandwiched in between a goal by Camara and a brace by Dario as the Flying Antelopes crashed out of the Champions League.
Mba noted that in spite of the constraints against him having arrived Libolo moments before the game, he did his best.
“I am happy with my performance against Recreativo Libolo. Not only because I scored the only goal for Rangers, but because I played well before I was substituted,” Mba said.
“It gave me a measure of confidence that I can be better than what I am presently since I have not played a competitive game after the Africa Cup of Nations.
“I thank God for everything. It means if I train harder and also played competitive games, I will do very well. The players did well in the match.
“Nobody can blame us. We have forgotten about the match and we are looking forward to the next team in the Confederation Cup where we will [now] play in,” Mba said.
