Lobi Stars chairman Dominic Iorfa has told Goal.com that the team is ready to reclaim lost glory and bounce back to qualify to play in the continent at the end of this season.
Lobi Stars placed third last season in the Nigeria Professional Football League and lost in the finals of the Federation Cup to Heartland.
Iorfa noted that in spite of what happened to them in the Confederation Cup where they lost 7-1 to a club from Mozambique, they are sure to do well this term.
"We are going to reclaim our lost glory. I am so sure of this because we still have the set of players that we used last year.
"Last season we played some brand of football that is not known to Nigerian clubs. And we are going to continue in that tradition because we intend to continue to do well.
"I don't want to remember what happened to us in the Confederation Cup. This is one chapter in the life of the club that we are eager to forget so that we can forge ahead.
"We have learnt from that experience in Maputo. And that experience has motivated the players to strive to put in their best this season.
"I am confident that we are going to improve on our performance and show football followers that we are still that good team they have always known," said Iorfa.
Lobi Stars are presently placed in the 12th position with nine points from seven matches.
