The Nigeria international scored the second goal against Rubin Kazan on Thursday to help his side into the last four of the competition
Nigeria international Victor Moses continued his scoring feat in the Uefa Europa League on Thursday as he scored the second goal in Chelsea’s 3-2 loss to Rubin Kazan in the second leg played on the artificial pitch of the Olimpiyskiy Stadion in Luzhniki. Chelsea won through 5-4 on aggregate.
Moses scored the second goal in Chelsea’s 3-1 win last Thursday and did the same with a curling effort in the 55th minute to restore Chelsea’s lead though momentarily.
In the end, Moses’ goal was the goal that took Chelsea into the semi-final of the less glamorous tournament in Europe. Moses seems to like scoring against Russian and Ukrainian sides as he also scored against Shakhtar Donetsk in the Uefa Champions League.
The Nigerian has scored eight goals in his first season for the European Champions. Mikel Obi came on for Chelsea in the 60th minute to replace Ramires as coach Rafael Benitez shuffled his pack in readiness for Sunday’s FA Cup semi-final encounter against Manchester City at Wembley Stadium.
Chelsea are still fighting for two trophies as the season enters the last weeks, with the FA Cup, the Uefa Europa League and a top four finish in the Premiership the goal of the European champions.
