The Nigeria international midfielder came in third behind Andriy Yarmolenko and Domagoj Vida in the monthly player accolades
Lukman Haruna has been named the third best player for Dynamo Kiev for the month of Match. He was placed behind Andriy Yarmolenko and Domagoj Vida in the poll that is decided by the club’s fans.
Haruna was widely lauded for his performance against Kryvbas in the league in which he scored a goal and rallied the whole team.
Dynamo’s official website said: “In other matches, [Haruna] was also one of the key players in the middle.
“The advantages of the young midfielder include speed and the transition from defense to attack.
The U-17 World Cup winning captain was unfortunately marked down because of poor shooting decisions.
“Unfortunately in the game the Nigerian had a large percentage of technical defects, and did not always make the correct assessment of the situation when deciding on the application of long-range strike, when he is well placed,” the site added.
There were rumours that he would make a come-back to the Super Eagles for whom he played the 2010 World Cup but coach Stephen Keshi’s 30-man list did not include the playmaker. Haruna has played 11 league games and scored twice.
