The country's flag bearers in Africa's second tier club competition has chosen early arrival in Maputo as they look forward to qualification to the second round
Nigeria's Caf Confederation Cup representatives, Lobi Stars will leave Nigeria via the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja Monday night with a 35-man contingent comprising 20 players and 15 officials for their first round, second leg clash against Liga Muculmuna De Maputo (Mozambique).
According to a statement made available to Goal.com by the club's Vice Chairman, Dominic Ntem Iorfa, the Makurdi based club chose to travel on Monday to avoid travel congestion cum cancellation.
Iorfa gives reason for their early travel schedule:"We chose to jet out with the first flight option through Ethiopian Airline to Maputo . The next alternative would be flying out on Wednesday. Risking a flight cancellation for a match scheduled for Friday."
Lobi hold a slight edge having beaten LDMM 3-1 during the first leg played two weeks ago but the away club would fancy their chances having made the victory difficult for the Nigerian side in Bauchi.
