The Ukraine-based striker is targeting the World Cup for himself and the Eagles after securing the African title last month
Ideye was part of the team that was forced to a 1-1 draw by a gutsy Harambee Stars of Kenya last Saturday in Calabar.
“We have to get to the World Cup in Brazil and show we're the best, because we are the champions of Africa,” Ideye told his club’s official website.
But the goal merchant is wary of all teams in the qualifiers though Nigeria heads Group F with five points, same as Malawi and have tough away games to come up especially the June 5 reverse fixture against the Harambee Stars.
“But do not forget about qualifying. All matches are very important.
“I thank God for each call-up to the national team of Nigeria. There was a time when I did not believe that I will play for the national team. I am sure that the Lord has blessed me.
Ideye also revealed that he enjoys the partnership with injured Emmanuel Emenike, both on and off the field.
“I think my best friend in the Super Eagles is Emmanuel Emenike.
“I enjoy playing with him because we complement each other perfectly. In addition, we have a great relationship outside of the field,” he added
