The former Super Eagles handler has decided to take over the Port Harcourt side without getting his wish met by the management

Former Super Eagles coach, Austin Eguavoen has finally decided to return to Sharks without signing any contract with the management of the Port Harcourt club.

Eguavoen after he was unveiled insisted he must get a documented contract before he stareds work. But the management told him that he would get the contract papers later. He refused that he would only work if he got the contract papers, but the management told him that the contract had been drafted and sent to the Ministry of Justice.

In the first game of the season, while Sharks hosted Warri Wolves in Port-Harcourt, Eguavoen was in Owerri to watch Heartland take on Nembe City.

But in the second game when Sharks travelled to Kaduna, Eguavoen watched the match but did not sit on the bench because the management asked him to step aside and return only when he had seen the contract papers.
But the management prevailed on him and in the week three game against Kwara United in Port Harcourt, Eguavoen finally started work as the coach of Sharks.

He reavealed after the match which they lost 1-0 to Kwara United that he decided to return to the team after considering so many factors.

"It is true I have not signed any contract with the Sharks management. But I decided to trust what they told me that in no distant time the contract will be given to me.

"I trust them because they are men of intergrity and they will always abide by their words. That is why I have decided to honour their call to resume work.

"A lot of people said I am proud and should not leave the team in the lurch. And because the management has assured me and I trust their judgement, I have started work and I know the contract papers will soon be given to me to sign," Eguavoen said.
