Kenneth Omeruo glad Nigeria got a point from difficult Kenya game

The defender says he would continue to grow his confidence after a testy duel with the Harambee Stars in Calabar on Saturday left the Super Eagles with a lone point

Nigeria defender Kenneth Omeruo has described Saturday’s 2014 World Cup qualifier against Kenya as tough but happy the Super Eagles earned a point.

Francis Kahata’s 36th minute goal ensured that the African champions chased the game until late when substitute Nnamdi Oduamadi got an equaliser to give his side a share of the points.

Omeruo who had a hard time handling Kenyan captain Dennis Oliech was named the Peak man of the match and awarded $5000.

“It showed I’m gradually finding my bearing in the Eagles,” Omeruo said. “I will continue to get better.

“It was a very tough match but I’m happy we got something from a very difficult situation,” said the ADO Den Haag player.
