The Varese midfielder scored the equaliser as the Super Eagles saved their blushes against the Harambee Stars in Calabar

Nigeria midfielder Nnamdi Oduamadi has dedicated the match saving goal that helped the Super Eagles maintain their reputation against Kenya in Saturday’s 1-1 draw in Calabar.

The Varese midfielder came in as a substitute in the 75th minute for Sunday Mba and proved to be the key for his side to unlock the Kenyan defence after Francis Kahata had given the Kenyans an unlikely lead.

He had missed out of Nigeria’s trip to the Africa Cup of Nations due to an injury that kept him out for almost six months.

Oduamadi was named the Tom Tom most valuable player which carries $5000 prize while his lone strike earned him the Guiness goal prize of $2000.

“I’m very elated about these awards,” said Oduamadi. “I dedicate it to my mother Patricia who has been very supportive of my career.

“We were not fortunate today but lucky it didn’t end in defeat,” he said.
