The Kano Pillars coach says he is optimistic they can beat the Congolese side in the second leg of the Caf Champions League
Kano Pillars handler, Baba Ganaru has told Goal.com that he wants to go and win their Caf Champions League game against AC Leopards in Congo in two weeks’ time.
Ganaru led the Kano side to beat the Congolese team 4-1 in the first leg in Kano last weekend. He noted that it will be suicidal to play the second leg with the mentality that they can defend the four goals advantage from the first leg.
"We are through with the first leg of the second round. But I want to go and win the second leg because we cannot afford to go and play as if we have qualified.
"I want to tell the players that they must play with the spirit that we can also win the away game. We must approach the game like we have not played the first leg. That is the only we can get something out of the game.
"I am confident that my players will rise to the occasion and make our supporters proud. AC Leopards need three goals to qualify. That score line is not too big or too small. So we must guard against anything that will disrupt our team spirit for the game.
"But I am confident we can triumph in the second leg," Ganaru said.
The second leg comes up in a fortnight..
