The former Green Eagles skipper has charged the national U-20 side to emulate the Super Eagles by winning the trophy in Algeria
Following their lacklustre performance in their 0-1loss to the Eaglets of Mali at the African Youth Championship, former Super Eagles handler Christian Chukwu believes the Flying Eagles are well motivated towards making the nation proud in Algeria, and will not have any justification to fail.
Speaking with Goal.com, he explained that the Nigerian youngsters have not lacked anything as it concerns support from the football authorities.
Chukwu claimed the John Obuh boys should be extra motivated by the exploits of the senior national team, the Super Eagles at the Africa Cup of Nations in South Africa.
“We expect the team to do well just as their seniors because they were given everything. They had intensive preparation, played top class friendlies, so all we demand from them is a good result,” said Chukwu, who is a member of the Nigerian Football Federation (NFF) technical committee.
Nigeria can still qualify for the World Youth Championship if they beat Congo DR and Gabon in their next matches.
Nigeria has won the African title a record six times and have got two runners up medals at the World Youth Championship.
